Catastalsis

Rhythmic contraction and relaxation of the muscle of the intestines

Catastalsis is the rhythmic contraction and relaxation of the muscle of the intestines. It resembles ordinary peristalsis but is not preceded by a wave of inhibition.[1][2][3]
