Daniel Manouchehri Moghadam Kashan Lobos (born 25 May 1984) is a Chilean lawyer and politician of the Socialist Party currently serving in the chamber of Deputies from District 5 of the Coquimbo Region since 2022.[1]

Education and career

Daniel Manoucheri studied law at the Diego Portales University and at the Universidad del Mar. He was sworn in as a solicitor of the Chilean Supreme Court of justice on 19 November 2014.[2]

His major political career started in 2005 when he served as the youth leader of the presidential campaign organization of Michelle Bachelet and was elected national vice president of the youth wing of Socialist Party in 2012. In 2009, he ran for the house of Deputies from District 8 of Coquimbo, Ovalle and Río Hurtado but lost despite his impressive performance in the poll.

He tried again in 2013 but was edged out of the race following what was termed controversial political. negotiation that saw Communist candidate Daniel Núñez took the seat in the house of Deputies.

In the 2021 parliamentary election, he contested for the house of Deputies from District 5 in the communes of Andacollo, Canela, Combarbalá, Coquimbo, Illapel, La Higuera, La Serena, Los Vilos, Monte Patria, Ovalle, Paiguano, Punitaqui, Río Hurtado, Salamanca and Vicuña on the ticket of New Social Pact and won with 12,292 votes. He was elected leader of the Socialist Party in the chamber of deputies.[3][4]
