Lavoûte-Chilhac (French pronunciation: [lavut ʃijak]; Occitan: La Vòuta) is a commune in the Haute-Loire department in south-central France.

Geography

The village is located at an altitude of over 400 meters.[3]

In the gorges of the Allier, the village of Lavoûte-Chilhac is about halfway between Langeac and Vieille-Brioude (end of the gorges of the Allier which then joins the Limagne de Brioude).
